O Christmas Tree

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree, hmmm hmmm hmmm hmm hmm hmmm. Does anybody really know the lyrics to that song? I think the melody holds it's own as a hum, though. So, we got our Christmas tree this weekend. Packed up the boys in the car and drove down to our local Christmas tree tent to support 'the little guy' as Joe likes to do. It was a chilly, windy day and we had to watch for falling trees in every direction. The boys searched high and low for the perfect tree . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Could this be the one?

Does it feel right?. . .Does it smell right?. . .Load her up!

We buy a fresh tree every year because it's just more authentic to us. And every year as we struggle to wrap each branch with ever-failing light strands we also say, 'well maybe an artificial tree with the built-in lights isn't all bad'. It took us a couple of days to get the lights up with so many interruptions and technical difficulties. And last night the boys helped me with the finishing touches concluding with the ceremonial lighting of the star. Which sadly, was almost nothing compared to today when we set up the train around the base of the tree that "Grandma Peter Pan" gave us last year.
