who doesn't love a lazy, rainy sunday? ikey and i slept in until 9am [if you can still call it sleeping in if you're up all night with a sleepless baby] and joe and jonah had already lit the fireplace and warmed up the downstairs while it drizzled outside. most of the day we just lazied around in our sweats watching movies and drinking hot cocoa, save our little adventure with an overflowing toilet. joe found jonah standing in about an inch of water and half of the toilet paper roll missing, looking ever so innocent. if we're looking for a bright side, at least now that bathroom is so clean we could probably eat off the toilet. every inch of that bathroom was scrubbed and bleached. we could eat off it, but we won't. joe finally made the turkey soup he's been dreaming about since thanksgiving and even served it in little bread bowls. then the boys were off to the tub with their new boats daddy got them. so perfectly cheap and entertaining, as joe says. as a little kid i remember loving to get out of the bath and wrapping up in a towel and drying off by the fireplace on a cold day. but since our fireplace is downstairs and their tub is upstairs, we have a makeshift fire right in the boys' closet [aka space heater]. it makes dressing them a whole lot easier without all the whining and crying that it's too cold to get out of the tub. and don't they look happy. eventually we made it full circle, back to bed listening to the rain.morning lullabies - ingrid michaelson
