every day when i pick jonah up from preschool, the last thing they do before leaving is recite the pledge of allegiance. today i noticed that he actually knew more than half the words. so we were talking about it on the car ride home and i would say a line and then he would say the next and so on. so we got to the part that says, 'and to the republic for which it stands, one nation...' and jonah says,
"mama, you forgot the witch."
"huh?" i say.
"the witch it stands"
"oh, for which it stands?"
"yeah."
can you picture the image in his head? while i'm seeing uncle sam, jonah sees witches perhaps waving flags above their pointy little hats. or maybe the whole pledge is more of a spell they're conjuring up for the indivisibles? it makes you wonder what is this forced recitation actually teaching my child at this age? at any rate, he's learning patriotism, rote rehersal, and still keeping his imagination active.

Perfect! That reminds me, I have GOT to write Ry's Spanglish version of the Pledge he picked up in Miami ;) hahaha
Ah, the joys of the English language. So many words that sound the same bur are spelled differently and have different meanings. Jonah is apretty smart little boy. I like your logo of the witch with the flag.
