wild goose chase

rachel says she keeps checking my blog waiting for something to happen. i said, i keep waiting for something to happen. the truth is i have been busy. i've been on a wild goose chase this week. just looking for my everyday necessary items.
found it. in the dirty laundry basket. of course. it only took me 3 days. the boys have been forced to eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches during our time of honey famine. jonah liked them just fine. all his favorites in one place, what's not to love? ikey, on the other hand, made a banana masterpiece on the tile with peanut butter as his media.
found it. stashed away with several of my personal items in the boys' tree house. our house phone also happened* to be out so i couldn't call the cell phone or ask anyone else to call it. this only took me maybe 5 hours to find while i panicked, thinking of all the horrible things that could happen while joe is gone and i have no connection to the outside world.
ah, there they are. in the trunk of the boys' retro rocket along with some other toys, food, and a sippy cup full of fermented apple juice. could someone have been planning a get away? to mars possibly? i guess he changed his mind.
i have also spent a significant amount of time looking for little boys recently. isaak fell asleep on the backrest of the couch in the 'forbidden' room the other day. a nice little cozy spot in the sun. i was literally running circles around the house yelling like a crazy person. [ikey! say, what!] eventually jonah decided the time was probably right to tell mama that ikey was right there next to him as he watched me run around like a chicken with my head cut off. jonah seems to have found a new humor in this. he's been found, giggling sinisterly, in the tiniest of hiding spots behind the television, under a pile of stuffed animals, and up to no good with his cousin and partner in crime, paris. we even had a code yellow at target the other day. man, are you a big deal when every lady in a red t-shirt is running around the store and speaking very seriously into their walkie-talkies,"we have a code yellow. code yellow."
my sanity? still looking.

*it actually just happened to be unplugged which joe happened to find incredulous that i didn't happen to figure that out on my own.

i would like to see jonah snickering to himself as his mama frantically searches for his sleeping brother! i would giggle right along with him. :)
