me and the boys decided that we'd rather spend july elsewhere this summer. if it's not in colorado or the white mountains, it's heaven. what better than to escape the infernal desert than to stay in heaven for a spell.no, we haven't literally been given a summer pass to that eternal dwelling place and it's not that pine is just like heaven. [although it comes close at times.] jonah has dubbed nana's cabin in pine, arizona "heaven" because it is the eternal resting place of our late pet, izzy. we buried our beloved dog there over a year ago when she couldn't shake the valley fever. and when jonah asked "where did izzy go?" we gave him the standard reply, "heaven", of course.
since then we usually stop in "heaven" whenever we're passing through town to say a quick hello, and we miss you, to izzy and the other four family dogs who are buried there. izzy is a bit of a misfit being the only canine there who wasn't a golden retriever. but it's all the same here just as it would be in heaven, isn't it? this week jonah took the time to help clear the weeds that were "growing on izzy" along with many more fun times with nana and the cousins which we will post about in the coming days...
