joe made cupcakes last week. that's right. my beer drinking, motorcycle rebuilding, power tool weilding, man's man husband has a healthy feminine side, too. which reached new levels, i thought, when he was upset with me because me and the boys ate them for breakfast instead of taking them to the new neighbors per his intentions. [i know, right?*] so he took what was left across the street to which our recent acquaintance replied a day or so later that they didn't even like them. yes, they said that.so late last night, joe thought he'd give it another go because he was craving something "creamy and delicious". they turned out just so, homemade cream cheese frosting and all. he hounded me again about taking them to our other new neighbors and i reluctantly agreed. [i'm just not the show-up-at-the-stranger's-house-with-cupcakes kind of girl.]
but unfortunately, this morning joe left us for yet another extended trip to korea. he's always doing that lately. if it's not osan, then it's london, or kuala lumpur, rabat, santo domingo, reynosa, drummondville, or any stateside city. he travels the world while i stay at home with the old ball and chains. and frankly, the ball and chains and me feel neglected at times.
you know, when our dog feels neglected he urinates on the carpet in protest, or he chews up some precious possession. this morning i was thinking perhaps sirius is on to something.
besides, why should the neighbors get a plate of creamy, delicious cupcakes anyway? are they trying to fill a gaping void this morning? should they be rewarded for buying the exact same model home as us from a bank for half the price of what we paid? especially when all of our past experience with cupcake bearing tells us that they probably won't even like them. let's ask the ball and chains...
it's unanimous. since i don't much like urine on my own carpet either, take. that. baby.
*wait. which are you talking about? cupcakes for breakfast is perfectly fine some days.
i owe you one - lights

Does he leave you for work or for fun? Either way, it ain't easy and I say cupcakes for breakfast and cupcakes for lunch! How were they, because those cupcakes look delicious!
sara: no worries. i guess baby comes before my boys' trailer park hair-do's.
cindy: i knew you'd understand.
anna: he's allegedly working, but i think it's fun for him if not only because he gets to shirk his daily home duties. and the cupcakes, "creamy and delicious" just like he said. let them eat cake. i love it.
