the wez-a-wecktion

the what?

"you know, when those people who loved jesus laid him in a tube then rolled a rock in front of the door. then the angels came down and put a spell on him and he disappeared into heaven."

you've never heard it told like that?

well, the boys discovered what the easter bunny had left behind just before heading off to church dressed in their springy sunday best. jonah is a pretty good listener in sunday school it seems and isaak took his first attempt at the nursery. the three of us even made it through the very early sacrament meeting with only mild stress-induced sweating. joe decided he'd rather stay home and remember christ's sacrifice by doing dishes and picking up dog doo-to each his own.

afterward, all the family and then some came over for lunch and the inevitable egg hunt. just look at kamarin trying to hold them back. they were forced to eat lunch first while the not-so-sneaky rabbits hid the eggs. you'd think somebody was shoving bamboo shoots under jonah's fingernails, the torture he had to withstand by waiting and waiting...

the findings came back a little uneven, but i don't think the boys even noticed. first things first-isaak would not be deterred from immediately eating all the candy he had found, jonah was happy to get some good quality time in with his boys, and i spent the rest of the day pawning off lemon bars to my guests, neighbors, random passers-by. i had to make good use of the last of the lemons on our tree, so i made a lot to say the least and they were good.

it wasn't until laying in bed that night that jonah told me the story of the resurrection. isaak listened to every word then looked at me and said, "yeah. the wez-a-wecktion." i don't know if his nursery teachers told him the same story word-for-word, but he knew what jonah was saying. "yeah. the wez-a-wecktion." duh.

Your family looks pretty cute in their Easter gear. Too bad Joe didn't have a matching shirt too :)
