autumn is when we begin to hope

 

while the only obvious sign of fall around here is pumpkins at the grocery store, we're going to play along anyhow. if we get up early enough we can open the windows for a couple of hours to let some fresh air in and this morning we even ventured to turn on the oven without fear of running up the electric bill.

so we might still be hitting those triple digits, but there seems to be a dim light at the end of the tunnel.
