jonah had another birthday and while i was so not feeling a party this year, i think this is the first year where he was really anticipating one, so we met in the middle--5 friends only and little to no money spent. he picked the activities and the food, which all worked out pretty well--for me.
joe was up until the wee hours putting this cardboard beauty together the night before. jonah said he wanted to paint a rocketship, and paint a rocketship he did.peanut butter sandwiches and cheetos on the menu. i even went that extra mile and let them choose honey or jelly and topped it off with a juice box. hey, whatever the birthday boy wants.
when i asked jonah what kind of cake he wanted he said mint and chip ice cream, so that's exactly what he got. he didn't even know it came in a cake.there were the typical glitches that go along with this being my first kid-only birthday party. there was the non-washable paint [sorry moms], the mixed crowd, and one little girl hanging by only her jacket in the tree [she survived]. those aside, i think he enjoyed himself.
happy birthday my big "six years old!" xoxo
