there is nothing i don't love about this nativity scene the boys built using mostly legos and happy meal toys. my favorites in no particular order:

joseph, mary & baby jesus- shamu has been jonah's very favorite toy ever since we went to florida, so i think it fitting that he was chosen to be the christ child. when we visited sea world, a baby whale had just been born and we got to watch the new baby and mother swim together in the tank.  it also appears to be obvious that joseph is not the father. i wonder if these events and observations had the influence i think they did over jonah's decision on representatives for the holy family. ... i'm sure my almost 7 yr. old was making a religious statement by deciding to build a very tall and lanky Joseph while Baby Jesus is a round and fishy Mary mini-me. no?

the stable- jonah used our traditional olive wood nativity scene as a model for his mega bloks reconstruction. i was very impressed at his skills; creating multiple levels and pitches in the roof. he then pointed out that he used the police station roof right in the middle because of the christmas star. brilliant.

the three wisemen- while jonah constructed camels and goats with legos, isaak was appointed the task of producing three kings. indeed, yoda and albert einstein were very, very wise men.

and last but not least, the very daunting shepherd robot, dinosaurs for horses, a demonic angel, and the big rubber spider-i was given no explanation for this, but i should think he would make a very talented little drummer boy. yes?
