This year my original party plans got rained out, so at the last minute we had Jonah make all the revisions. He chose the dinner menu (grill cheese sandwiches and tomato soup), the cake ("the BIG chocolate one!"), and the activities ("eat cake and open presents"). He also decided he needed birthday hats and noisemakers, as per The Little Einstein's Mission Celebration. So the kids decorated their own hats and created much chaos. 11 kids plus 11 noisemakers in one house that seemed to shrink by the minute.
Jonah has outgrown his favorite red trike from his 2nd birthday, so Joe and I were debating whether to get him a big bike or just a bigger trike. Our mind was made up for us when we were at Costco and came across an aisle full of bikes and trikes. Jonah ran right past all the bikes and hopped on this super-cool Schwinn Roadster Trike. We couldn't peel him off it. Why such motivation? Was it the shiny-red nature of the trike? (He has an affinity for red when it comes to trikes.) The mustache handlebars and retro flare? Well, you can see, it took him all of 4 seconds to pick-up chicks with this new ride.
