my top 5

i just wanted to make a list of my top 5 favorite things about the boys as of today...

note: i was going to do a top 10 but as you can see, too much babbling. so i just stuck to 5 and these are not necessarily in order from best to best-est and are subject to change.

1. joe lets me stick my cold fingers and toes in his arm and leg pits at night.

and yeah, he's smart and witty and loving and all that, blah, blah, blah. but this is amazing to me. needless to say, i do not reciprocate.

2. jonah truly believes that mommy's kisses heal all wounds.


jonah (wailing) : "mama, ikey hit me in the eye with the phone!"
me: "are you okay? do you want me to kiss it?"
jonah (still wailing, pointing): "yah, right here."
me (kissing his wounded eye): "is that better?"
jonah (even more upset): "no! it's not working. kiss it again!"
me (kissing the eye again): "is that better?"
jonah (lets out a big sigh and immediately stops crying): "yah"
and he runs off into the sunset and lives happily ever after.

3. i love all of ikey's new words, but his "maaMUH" is in my top 5.

i'm trying to spell out the inflection in his voice when he says "maaMUH". it's like how your mother used to call your name when you knew you were in trouble for something. you pay attention.

4. the brothers playing together.

there is a lot of screaming and hitting between these two guys, but every once in a while i catch them sharing willingly and laughing together. those are golden.

5. the boys singing to themselves.

jonah basically lives in a musical. he'll sing anything when he's in that mood. and ikey makes some pretty good attempts at 'twinkle twinkle little star' these days.
