march 2006. isaak orion. aka joe's mini me. 
with two years of living behind him, ikey's continuing to show us that he is bound and determined to be just like his dad. isaak's delivery turned into an emergency c-section when the doctor determined he had a prolapsed umbilical cord. from the time the decision was made to the time isaak was born was under 3 minutes. they had already sliced me open before joe could even get his scrubs on. there was a sheet prohibiting me from seeing anything that was going on, but i heard my baby crying and then the first thing the nurse told me once they had isaak in their arms was, 'he's got blonde hair. even his eyelashes are blonde!' since 
my first baby came out with lots of black hair, i was thinking, what the...? and then i was unconscious. because of the shock of the surgery and the drugs they pumped into my body, i was in and out of consciousness the rest of the night. i hardly got to hold baby ikey at all for the next 24 hours, but his daddy was there, lovin' on him [half asleep] all night long. besides the incredibly light pigment and what seems like the all bast genetical makeup, ikey is left-handed, lactose intolerant, short-tempered, and has some interesting dental anatomy just like his dad. he is also very affectionate, super smart, and has aries as his astrological sign [joe's birthday being only 3 days later]. ikey has been such a wonderful addition to our little family and we* love him so much and feel lucky that he joined us.
