my baby sister, sara, turns 27 today. some words of advice from someone much older and wiser.some say that 27 is the year to catapult oneself into legendary status by dying young and in the pinnacle of your career. just ask the forever 27 club. the most popular of which are:
brian jones [of the rolling stones]
jimi hendrix
janis joplin
jim morrison
kurt cobain
all died at the age of 27, most commonly of a drug overdose.
since you are not a rockstar [in the musician's sense of the word], nor am i aware of any aspirations to become one, i'm not really worried. but just in case, let's try to stay away from the drugs, alcohol and small aircraft this year.
'tis not "better to burn out rather than fade away", so i say.
