the wheels in his head

a piece of tonight's bedtime dialogue:

[jonah] "where's daddy tonight?"
[me] "he's working in the garage."
[jonah] "i know that. he's making the video games* for the new houses."
[me] "how did you know?"
[jonah] "i just had it in my hand."
[me] "you had it in your head?"
[jonah] "no, i had that voice in my hand and so i put it in my mouth and told it to you."
[me] "and that's how you knew?"
[jonah] "yeah."

*joe has a friend who has a little arcade business on the side and joe builds the wood cabinets that encase the games for him. just in case you were thinking i was the kind of wife who lets her husband play video games in the garage all night while i take care of the children. unh-uh.
