pete [jonah] and i spent the day at the lake with my sisters [and their husbands] and all the cousins, minus isaak. [he was spending quality time with daddy.] although i missed them, it was nice to spend time just with jonah and not have to chase a 2 year old around. this was jonah's first trip out on the lake and to ride on a "super fast jet boat".
the kids swam in the murky water, tubed at a snail's pace, and were hunted by birds. the moms relaxed on the beach, forced "samiches" down kids' throats, and [some of us] were flailed and jolted about on the tube while doing our best to hold our tongues and pretend to still be young twenty somethings [if only for a few more weeks.]
jonah was very curious [and a little nervous*] about what made the boat go, the sound of the boat hitting the waves, and the dark water. [he hasn't stopped talking about it since.] we headed back at sunset and watched the shadows stretch across the cliffs. besides it being past bedtime already, it was the kind of day that'll really take it out of you.*see curious/nervous face above [6th picture, middle-ish]

jonah is invited back any time (when accompanied by his mommy)! what a great sport he was on the tube and the 'real fast jet boat'.
what a great time! I have been waiting for some one to post about it.
Those lake days are so fun and so exhausting--perfect for little boys!
When are you turning the big 3-0, exactly??
anna - it's exactly two weeks from today. whoo-hoo. when's yours?
