hostile

i'm being held hostage at a holiday inn. i think i agreed to come on this trip, if i can remember that far back. i've spent years in colorado springs this week and now i don't think they're going to let me leave.
i've been trying to entertain the boys around the clock, but since we've come here they've peed the bed, shat* in the tub, and even punched a hole or two in the walls.

there's only so much i can do by myself with a 4 yr. old and a 2 yr. old. joe leaves for work before we wake up in the morning and doesn't get back until 7pm or so, exhausted. we barely get a meal in before we're all in bed.

when joe's not here we eat in the room when we can, since the boys have been absolutely uncooperative when it comes to restaurants. this morning me and the boys were in the hotel restaurant for breakfast and ikey was doing his pterodactyl impersonation [aka throwing one of his notorious fits] complete with throwing all objects within reach, when i hear one of the only two other people in the restaurant say to the other, "get him out of here." so i throw the man the stinkeye to let him know that i heard him and not to worry. i gathered up my syrupy boys and gave him another nasty look on the way out just for good measure [with ikey tucked under my arm like a football, kicking and screaming.]

so i blame the not-empathetic man for my current negative attitude. really things haven't been so bad, even enjoyable at times. colorado good. holiday inn bad. i'll have to post the good stuff later when my mood lifts.

* sorry sensitive readers, there's really no other word for it.

oh, you make me long to be with you...

next time, you ought to let grumpy man sit with you to see if he could do any better.

sorry it hasn't been fun 24/7. look forward to hearing the good parts of your trip. it's sure to include the car ride back home. see you soon.

That is quite the picture! Hotel rooms are the ultimate fuel for kids - no matter HOW tired they are when you arrive, they are instantly rejuvinated when you walk through that door! *snicker*

Good luck with the rest of your trip in the beautiful Colorado weather! Enjoy! (and Mr. Empathy probably meant to ask if he could help you out... you did the right thing. I hope he felt bad :)
