the northeast kingdom [a pictorial]

we were a few weeks shy of the big fall foliage shebang, but we did get a little taste of what new england is famous for:

our "view" of jay peak:

north east kingdom vermont 383_edited-1 this place was just outside montgomery and we drove by several times. each time i felt a little confused not knowing whether i should feed my belly or my soul. "in the name of the father, the son, and the ham sandwich," as joe put it.

on that note:

i thought i'd do what they do in new england and eat seafood chowder. i didn't think i'd be pulling a freaking octopus out of my cup especially since it wasn't even one of the ingredients.
