i thoroughly cleaned my house before leaving on vacation and i was practically giddy thinking about it still being clean when i got home. but like our trip to new england and the beautiful weather there, all good things must come to an end, in this case, an abrupt end. we're back in the desert and thanks to our own little hurricane ike and his big brother, tornado pete, back to reality. [sigh.] still, it's good to be home and i'm glad they're home with us.
jonah did not want to come home, as predicted, but he said we could stay with him at oma and opa's house. besides the sugar riches and homecooked meal* wealth they accrued there, the boys were prosperous in the entertainment department, as well. oma and opa were always on hand to set up an elaborate train track or build skyscraping towers, read books, and take evening walks. and beyond that they took day trips to the park, to play with cousins, and even visit an extroverted giraffe at out of africa. it's safe to say they don't get the same rockstar treatment at home. still, i think they're glad to be home, deep down.
*oma tried to make them their favorite meals, never forcing them to eat any vegetables they didn't like.

all good things - the weepies

justin was quite impressed with how clean a house could get! easier to do with kiddos eh!
Welcome back! - I love the Hurricane Ike reference. I think I'll have to add natural disaster nicknames to my kids too ;)
That's gracious of him to offer to let you stay at their house with him. ;) LOL that is so cute.
