it's that time of year-preschool graduations, kindergarten graduations, 6th grade graduation, 8th grade graduation, high school graduation, college... why so many? i'm guessing we need the reminders. we're getting old, our kids are growing up way too fast, and we'd better celebrate it while we still can.
i'm really not ready to send jonah to kindergarten. i think he'll love it, but i'm one of those paranoid moms who thinks about all the possible horrible things that could happen and all the mean kids i'd like to bully. i don't want to hold him back so is it too weird if i just enroll myself, too? i'll leave him mostly alone, just keeping an eye on him from a safe distance. actually, i guess i always thought i'd go back to teaching by the time he was in school and that way i wouldn't be more than a hallway away and still exhort some influence over his teachers and warn those bullies with a fierce look. [aware now that i'm sounding a teensy bit crazy.]
it's not the best scenario when you think of little brother still too young for school though, so it's not looking like it's going to happen soon. [sigh] yeah, okay. i get it. you've got to let them go sometime. i knooow. and yes, i survived it, but i think it's going to be a lot harder for me to watch my boys navigate their way through adolesence. psh, parenthood. the sleepless nights and endless diaper changes i could deal with, but this is a whole new level.
yeah, yeah. nobody said it would be easy...blah. blah. blah.
