took the boys out for our daily swim.
isaak's a pretty good hoosier. i got it all on camera.
my mind wandered for just a few seconds.
and the next thing i heard was some sputtering and couging.
isaak had fallen in the water. i was sitting right there, but never heard a thing.
but jonah didn't give a second thought to pulling his little brother out of the water. he just pulled him to the surface so isaak could grab on to the side. by the time i got over there, isaak was a little shaken, but he just started monkey-walking his way to the steps and jonah continued about his swimming and flipping through the water.
i, on the other hand, was in shock.
jonah: "he was reaching for the ball and fell in the water."
me: "so you pulled him up?
jonah: [shrugging] "yeah."
and he swims off 'cause it's no big thing.
later, as i'm snuggling isaak up in a towel and overcompensating for the event he says to me,
"jonah's a hair-wo."
"yeah, he is."

that makes for some anxiety, right? those news people aren't kidding around when they say it only takes a second.
yesterday, gabriel learned to push the kid table over to the fence, scale the fence, and hop over - all in his (loser) mother's absence. apparently, not even the back yard is safe for that child. luckily, he chose to just throw things in the pool instead of getting in himself. but, maybe jonah can come over for a while and be my hair-wo for a bit - just in case. (fyi - we've gotten rid of the table)
How sweet what Ikey said! It gave me chills. Those boys are going to be inseparable.
I got a little teary eyed. We just took a life saving/cpr class at the fire station. I made the boys go in case they need to be a hero to their cousins someday.
Eeek! Thank Heaven for those guardian angels - especially the ones in sibling form! Wow. ... Wow.
