i'm all in

i've got $10 bucks that says i'm committed to this Wellness Challenge:

Here's how the challenge works.  Everybody puts in $10.00 to start the challenge.  You do the following ten things each day, and earn a point for each item.  At the end of the week you enter your total points for the week on the google document (The Challenge Spreadsheet).  There are 10 possible points a day. You get 1 point for each wellness guideline you accomplish. Your weekly goal is 70 points.  At the end of the 3 months, the person with the highest points gets 80% of the total money, the 2nd place winner gets 15%, and the 3rd place winner gets 5% of the total money contributed by the participants.

How you Earn Your Points

1. Drink 48 ounces of water a day

2. 45 minutes of exercise (doesn't have to be consecutive)

3. No soda or alcohol

4. No sweets (desserts, pastries, candy, or sugary snacks)  Sugar-free alternatives are okay.

5. No fast food, or unhealthy snacks (chips)

6. Consume 2 servings of fruits and 2 servings of vegetables

7. No eating after 8 p.m.

8. Read 15 minutes of spiritual or uplifting text

9. Write in your journal (Daily blogs count, too.)  Express specific appreciation, love, or praise in your journal...a goal of two or three items is a good goal!

10. Personal goal- each week make a personal goal for everyday or make a goal for the entire week. ( Like reading more to the kids, organize a closet, get 8 hours of sleep, etc...)

ONE FREE POINT PER AREA, PER WEEK  Free points: YOU ONLY GET ONE FREE POINT IN EACH CATEGORY, EACH WEEK For example: One day a week you could choose to skip exercising, but you would still get the point-if you only miss it once. This is the same for each category. Or, you might choose to just have one free day! However, these are not roll-over points! Un-used free points will be lost at the end of each week.

EXCEPTIONS

*Birthdays are free or choose a free day if your birthday is not during this time. *You are allowed 3 sick days (if you are truly sick) when you do not need to exercise or follow the water/veggie/fruit rule (if you can't eat). These are extra days on top of your already weekly free day.

feel free to join in*, more money for me! part of my new year's commitment to enjoy life more is to feel better about myself. it's incredible the impact this has on my daily attitude. i'm turning 33 this year and 3 is definitely my lucky number. those damned skinny jeans [yes, the date on the link DID say 2008] are going to get it this year! ha! but seriously. it's time to feel a little less like one of these creatures and a little more like the other:

though, don't misunderstand. i have no intention of taking a stab at the gold bikini, or anorexia, or the unfortunate trend of tapering at the ankles. those skinny jeans just mean  that i feel skinny in them. that's all. and that's maybe how old those jeans are. ugh! i don't care. i'm going to wear those things out!

happy twenty-eleven, baby!

*really. if you wanna, i'll email you the deets and spreadsheet.

Um, I thought about joining until I got to #3. I don't think I could do the no soda thing. And then #4 isn't going to work for me either. But it sounds cool other than that so have fun. (it also sounds like something my mom would like to do-I'm going to forward it to her)
