joe took the family on another surprise outing today. i was a bit skeptical of the "surprise" part, but he did say there were no dogs involved. so we loaded up and headed to chandler for the 20th annual ostrich festival. who knew chandler had an ostrich festival and for the past 20 years? it was a lot bigger than i expected it to be. it had all the standard carnival rides, $12 each. luckily our very grounded son, jonah, didn't want to ride any of them and ikey still isn't big enough. however, we did attend the ostrich races, visit the petting zoo full of exotic, strange animals, jonah rode his first pony, and the boys' favorite was the model train booth. the weather was warm and beautiful and the food deliciously greasy. i didn't go there expecting to eat any 'carny' food, but i apparently forgot about the indian fry bread. mmm. . . it was good, worth all 500 calories. me and the boys returned home a little sunburned, worn out and ready for a nap.

looks like fun... but why don't i see any pictures of you riding the ostrich?
oh so fun we probably shoulda got up a lil early and gone out there with you guys it looked like fun! paris would of been all over the rides and would of never gone near an animal! WAY TO GO JONAH riding you first donkey!
