you thought i forgot about [joe's brother] steve's birthday [actually may 31st], didn't you? not the case. i've just been waiting for his big party to post about it. me and the little boys drove out to phoenix today to swim, barbeque and mingle with the family at steve and val's house. on the drive home jonah said,
"mama, you know what? i like you. i like you everyday.""everyday?!" i said, a little astonished. [i don't even like me everyday.] "i love you everday, jonah."
"me, too."
"who else do you love?"
"uh, summer. and cokie and oma and opa and daddy and aunt val and uncle kris and aunt jami and emmy and uncle steve and ikey*. but summer mostly."
needless to say, the boys had fun with their cousins and consuming large amounts of ice cream cake. it's always good times with the bast [and mocarski] family. thanks again guys and happy #32 steve!*not necessarily in that order exactly.

Summer and Jonah are going to be the best of friends. The first thing she said to me when she came over was not hi - it was "where's jonah??!"
