it finally happened. our little fish has grown fins. this is going to make those turf activities a good degree more difficult, but it's probably worth it. who wants to be on dry land in this scorching desert anyway?
we spent a couple days at aunt rachel's house while joe was out of town. not actually on purpose, we just showed up one afternoon and didn't leave. isaak and 'biel* were having so much fun playing together every minute of everyday. and jonah was thrilled to be able to show off his swimming skills. he was really ticked-off that i made him wear a life jacket when all the neighborhood kids [28 all together!] were there swimming. it was like when you throw food in the pond at one of those fish farm places. there's a lot of splashing and chaos and you can't tell who's above water and who's sinking into the abyss. "but i wanted the big kids to see how i can swim." sorry, buddy. but he did impress his big cousin, taylor, later, when there wasn't so many people in the pool. taylor even said all the right things to inflate a little guy's ego. thanks, man.*isaak's nickname for gabriel.

:) I'm gonna need a few sets of fins too - how'd he do it? ;) Tell him I'm truly impressed he can swim too!
we're always up for squatters, and taylor's always available for ego boosting!
