joe returned home tonight bearing korean gifts,[a "sea munsta" intrigued the boys a little less than the superhero socks daddy brought for them.]
but not before isaak could cause one more major disaster.
it started with a simple mess.
paris, jonah and isaak thought they'd make it "snow" by tearing some styrofoam into a gazillion tiny little balls all over the upstairs. i couldn't manage to get it out of the kids' hair because of the static, so i threw them all in the shower.
once the pesky styrofoam was removed i got paris and jonah out, but isaak wanted to play in the tub. and since screeching and yelling sometimes gets him what he wants, i sat him in there with a few inches of water and some tub toys while i vacuumed up the rest of the mess. just as i'm finishing up, jonah and paris tell me that ikey is letting all the water out of the tub. usually this means he has lifted the drain or is pouring water by the cup fulls onto the floor, but when i turned the vacuum off i could hear the faucet running. i go into my bathroom to find the entire bathroom floor under a couple inches of water and isaak blissfully bobbing up and down as the water cascades over the edge of the tub and down the steps. awesome.
i dammed off the carpeted areas around the bathroom and banished the children to the playroom as i attempted to figure out joe's wet/dry vac. finally getting that to work and sopping up the last traces of any puddles, paris informs me that water is dripping from the ceiling into the playroom below.
on the way down the stairs to size up the damage i catch a whiff of something burning and think how awesome it would be if they'd managed to burn the house down now also. luckily, it was just the central heat set to about 85 degrees. isaak had pulled a chair over to thermostat, turned it on, and gotten into my bag and eaten an entire pack of gum. luckily, the water had not soaked completely through the drywall, it was coming out of a vent in the ceiling. [that's better, right?]
i do not think there is enough childproofing in the world for this kid. so what does that leave me? i actually do wish i had a padded room. jonah wasn't exactly a peach at this age, but isaak is definitely taking full advantage of his terrible two's.
환영받은 가정, [welcome home] joe. we've really missed you.
friday i'm in love - the cure

Faith, he sounds like a handful. Good Luck With That. Mine just says MOOOOM to everything!
OH MY GOOD-a-NESS! I know this doesn't make YOU feel better, but that made my two-year-old seem a whole lot easier.
BLESS your heart. At least the weather is getting nicer down there, right? Send him outside!
he's sure a busy body. i don't necessarily think jonah was way easier at age 2, just easier to keep track of in a house 1/2 the size.
just keep your emergency numbers handy. :)
how do you like the book "Wicked" so far? I won't tell you my thoughts until you are done... so hurry and finish!
lol! Wow. I have found (but don't always do this) that if I have to clean up one disaster, the culprites have to sit (or be locked) in time-out until it is finished. Or else, the rampage continues & I am chasing fires all day... like you! Wow.
NOW, you can look back and laugh :)
Hey, another similarity between Ike & Shyre: they like to ingest chewing gum! (eeek!)
